Student Support Details
Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran School supports students with diagnosed learning differences such as ADD, ADHD, Dyslexia, and other academic challenges through needs based assessment. Services are based on each individual student’s needs and may focus on reading, math, study skills, or behavior strategies.
Students are recommended for support by their teachers, with parent approval. Students with diagnosed disabilities and current Individual Education Plans (IEPs) are given priority. All formal testing must be completed through Northside ISD or a qualified private specialist. Families applying for enrollment should provide copies of IEPs and any related documentation. After reviewing the information, school administration will determine whether Shepherd can appropriately meet the student’s needs.
Please note that while we strive to support many types of learners, Shepherd is not able to meet all educational needs and does not provide one-to-one aides or full-time individualized support.
Support Instructors
For students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade, reading support is provided by our part-time Reading Specialist, Nany Schwartz, who works with students based on individual needs.
