Ram Pals Volunteer Service Program

Another way parents and families can support Shepherd of the Hills is by volunteering their time for one of our community-building activities. We have volunteer opportunities that occur during the school day and on the weekend. In addition to the standing options listed below, we also need occasional volunteers for teacher workroom help and front desk help.

Here is how the Ram Pals Volunteer Service Program works:

  • Each family with school age children (Pre-Kinder through 8th) is asked to make a commitment of 10 involvement hours for the current school year.  A family involvement commitment can be met by:

    • 10 hours/family of service in lieu of $250 Ram PALS Fee

    • 5 hours/family of service and a $125 Ram PALS Fee (or combination of hours and payment of $25 per hour)

    • One payment of $250 in lieu of parent involvement hours

    • *Any necessary billing will be applied to May tuition billing.

     

    What qualifies as PALS Involvement Hours?

    Involvement opportunities include serving as room parents, sports team coaches/assistants, library aides or lunch aides; volunteering at one of our events (Ram Fest, Big Give, Ram Gala etc.) and much more!

  •  Volunteer opportunities are available through the SIGN UP link below. Volunteer opportunities are added throughout the year, so please be sure to check back often for additional options.

  • Each volunteer opportunity listed will have a detailed description and the total number of volunteers needed for that opportunity.

  • Sign up for your preferred area of service, show up to serve, and self-report your service time through your Gradelink Parent Portal. It’s that easy!


 

Volunteer Opportunities

Classroom Champion

  • Classroom Champion (Room Parents): Class Champions serve as a lead parent in each classroom. They act as a conduit between teacher and classroom parents. They support teachers by organizing classroom activities, coordinating volunteers, and enhancing communication between families and the school.

Ramfest Volunteer Opportunities (October)

This SHLS Carnival event is fun for the entire family! Food, games, entertainment and lots of time for fellowship. This committee of parents together with SHLS staff help plan the annual fall festival, creating a fun and festive community event for students, families, and staff.

Ram Gala Volunteer Opportunities (April)

The Ram Gala auction will be held each April.  Parent volunteers contribute to the event by staging and photographing auction items, adding items to the auction website, setting up tables, stringing lights, and more.  It definitely takes a village to make the acution a success, and it’s a community building experience for everyone involved.
